Pocket Full Of Pictures

We thought we would start a wee picture collection of our build. We will keep it on the sidebar for you and continue to add to it as we build.

Just came across your website – I’ll be starting work on a Lusby this fall, so I’m eager to keep an eye on how your project progresses. I like the video…

  2. Thats great. It is a lot of fun.

Hey guys, looks like a great build. From the pictures it looks like the floor, walls and roof are all constructed of 2×4 framing. Is this correct? If so, do you have any concerns about snow load and keeping the cold Canadian winters out versus the added insulation and load bearing capacity you would get with 2×6 construction? Maybe its just the way it looks on camera and it is 2×6.

I wish you two all the best and will be following your progress.

    • Hi Stephan.

You are right; it is 2×4. We just went with what was on the plans. I am not too concerned about the snow with the steep pitch and the metal roofing. I am guessing they didn’t plan for 2×6 because of the extra weight. Who knows, the whole process is new to me. 2×6 would definitely add more strength and room for insulation. We are using 3 inches of foundation grade styrofoam panels plus spray foam insulation in all the cracks.

Anyway, I am off to Lowes to buy our shower unit.

      Take care,

      Collin
